Matti is an 8th generation Texan. Born into a family of home cooks, her inspiration is truly Texan. The first smoker that we used to prepare our meats was custom made by her father decades ago and is where she first fell in love with Texas BBQ. Matti draws inspiration from the ingredients she uses and puts an emphasis on growing much of the food herself. She has her undergraduate degree from St. Edward's University in Environmental Science and Policy with an emphasis on biology. Her interest in the native landscape never wanes.
Geo has been interested in cooking food for as long as he can remember. Born in Lubbock, he moved to Austin as a young boy. Although not professionally trained, he is inspired by chefs all over the world and even more so by simple quality ingredients. Being the great grandson of Eastern European Jews who immigrated to the lower east side of New York gives him a natural affinity for deli cuisine. He reads endlessly, devotes himself to preparing food well, and strives to understand more about Central Texas terrior. He has his undergraduate degree from Texas State in Nutrition with a minor in Horticulture.
